Hygiene Counselling & Menstrual Health Awareness

At JAP TAP SEWA Healthcare Foundation, we believe that awareness is the foundation of good health. Through our Hygiene Counselling & Menstrual Health Awareness initiative, we are committed to educating and empowering girls and women with the knowledge and confidence to make informed decisions about their personal health and hygiene.

Our awareness sessions are conducted in schools, colleges, community centres, and underserved communities, reaching adolescent girls, young women, and underprivileged females who often have limited access to reliable health information. These interactive sessions are led by trained healthcare professionals and counsellors who create a safe, respectful, and supportive environment where participants can openly discuss concerns and ask questions without hesitation.

The programme focuses on personal hygiene, menstrual health management, reproductive health awareness, nutrition, sanitation, infection prevention, and the importance of maintaining healthy lifestyle practices. We also work to dispel common myths and misconceptions surrounding menstruation and women’s health, replacing fear and stigma with accurate information, confidence, and self-respect.

In addition to awareness sessions, we encourage healthy behavioural practices through practical demonstrations, educational materials, and one-to-one counselling wherever required. Participants are guided on the correct use and safe disposal of sanitary products, maintaining hygiene during menstruation, recognising early signs of common infections, and understanding when to seek timely medical assistance. We also engage parents, teachers, and community leaders to foster a supportive environment that promotes dignity and open conversations around menstrual health. By empowering women and girls with knowledge, life skills, and access to essential information, we aim to improve their overall well-being, enhance school attendance, reduce health-related challenges, and inspire healthier, more confident communities for generations to come.
